Rules for All Bluff City Tournaments
Our Aim is to build a Bridge Community by providing an environment of social and
relaxing bridge at an Intermediate/Advanced level.
Our Club subscribes to the BBO CODE OF CONDUCT. BBOCOC
Tournament Directors:
We know BBO can be accessed on different devices. At Bluff City Bridge Club,
the device used in a Tourney must be able to view and answer “Chat” by the Tournament Director.
1) Alert the Tournament Director:
a. Slow Play
b. Misclick during Bidding
("PRIVATELY" chat to TD... Do not use DIRECTOR Call or talk to table.
You MUST report misclick before you bid again even if you PASS!)
c. Opponents table talking
d. PSYCH Bidding is not allowed and will be penalized by TD.
The following are considered PSYCH Bids:
1) Normal Opening with less than 11 points (HCP plus Distribution)
2) Normal Overcalls with less than 6 HCP without distribution.
3) Opening a WEAK2 without 2 of Top 4 Honors (AKQJ)
2) Tournament Director Sanctions:
a. Will use a one to three limit warning system.
b. Will remove a Player if necessary.
c. Will suspend or ban a Player.
At the beginning of Each Round announce one of these allowed five systems:
1) SAYC
2) 2/1
3) PRECISION
4) GOREN (STRONG 2s)
5) ACOL/BENJI
ALERTS:
1) Alert if Using RKC - ROMAN KEY CARD
2) Question about Opponent’s Bid e.g. Splinter, Alert the Bid
3) Use the TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR Call Button if Opponent is unresponsive to an Alert.
